Nature Immersion

a.k.a. Forest Bathing

a.k.a. Nature therapy

Nature Immersion’ is the practice of focusing one’s attention on the sensory experience of Nature, such as the sound of the wind through the trees, or the texture of soft sand underfoot.

Engaging with Nature in this way stimulates our body’s innate biophilic response, leading to powerful changes in how we feel, how we think, and how we relate to each other.

This practice originated in Japan in the 1980s, where it is referred to as Shinrin Yoku - translated to Forest Bathing. Here, major corporations including Nissan and Mazda have incorporated Shinrin Yoku into their corporate development programs due to its effectiveness in improving wellbeing, resilience, and creativity.

The Nature Immersion movement has since spread around the globe and is only gaining momentum as research continues to reveal the wide-ranging benefits of spending time in Nature.
